There are some shoots where the stars align before you even click the shutter. Last week was one of them. I had the immense honor of photographing the lovely Padma Lakshmi at the iconic Bowery Hotel in New York City, all in support of a cause close to my heart: the Turtle Conservancy.
When you’re shooting for a conservation nonprofit, the goal is always to marry “the mission” with “the aesthetic.” You want to capture something that feels both urgent and timeless. With Padma as the subject and the Bowery as the backdrop, the “timeless” part was a given.
