A Holiday Card Family Photography
The Meyer Family
photography by New York City Family Photographer Josh Wong
Fall is one of the most beautiful times of the year in New York City, and there’s no better place to celebrate the season than Battery Park. Recently, I had the privilege of capturing a family photography session on a crisp, cool fall day in the heart of lower Manhattan. As a top NYC family photographer, I strive to create meaningful, timeless images that reflect the unique beauty of each family I work with, and this day was no exception.
The Perfect Fall Setting: Battery Park
Battery Park City, with its scenic views of the Statue of Liberty, vibrant autumn leaves, and peaceful waterfront, offers a stunning backdrop for family photography. The fall colors were in full swing, with hues of orange, red, and yellow painting the trees, while the cool breeze off the Hudson River added a touch of magic to the air. The park’s natural beauty, combined with the city skyline, created the ideal environment for a family session that felt both serene and iconic.
The Family Connection: Candid Moments of Joy
One of the things I love most about family photography is capturing those candid moments that reflect the genuine connection between loved ones. This family was full of energy and laughter, with the kids running through the leaves, parents smiling as they chased after them, and everyone enjoying the simple pleasures of a fall day.
We started near the park’s historic gardens, where the family gathered around a vibrant maple tree that was bursting with color. The kids were fascinated by the fallen leaves, creating perfect opportunities for playful, spontaneous shots. As they tossed the leaves in the air, their joy was contagious, and these unposed moments became some of my favorite images from the shoot.
