About Le Chateau Banquet:

Le Chateau Wedding Banquet is a tudor-style mansion of brick and stone would be virtually impossible to duplicate today, both financially and in craftsmanship. The rooms are paneled in American chestnut, a wood no longer available, cherry and oak. Huge chestnut beams are found throughout, and all of the woodwork was hewn and detailed by hand. Grand staircases and massive stone fireplaces are further reminders of a gracious era long past.

A Glamorous Long Island Wedding at Leonard’s Palazzo

As one of Long Island’s premier wedding venues, Leonard’s Palazzo stands out for its classic architecture and luxurious décor. I recently had the honor of photographing a wedding here, capturing every stunning moment at this exceptional venue.

Highlights of the Day: Emotional and Unforgettable Moments

1. The Ceremony
   The couple’s vows were exchanged in a beautifully decorated hall with soft, ambient lighting that gave each word an added sense of intimacy. Capturing close-up shots of their expressions as they said, “I do” was a truly special moment.
2. The Reception
   With lively toasts, an elegant dinner, and a dance floor filled with family and friends, the reception was unforgettable. The golden glow of the chandeliers cast a warm light across the room, adding depth and richness to every shot.
3. Romantic Portraits in the Garden
   As the sun set, we moved outside to the garden for a few final portraits. The soft twilight and ornate surroundings created a magical, almost dream-like atmosphere.

A Magical Sunset Wedding at Le Chateau | Josh Wong Photography

Nestled in the rolling hills of South Salem, New York, Le Chateau is a breathtaking venue that embodies timeless elegance and modern luxury. It’s the perfect setting for a fairytale wedding, and when the golden hues of a sunset cascade over the grounds, it becomes pure magic. Recently, I had the incredible privilege of photographing a stunning sunset wedding at Le Chateau, and the experience was nothing short of enchanting.

On September 29, we woke up to one of the most beautiful days on record. The entire day was like walking through a cloud. Jeff and I shared the most intimate of moments during our first look in the stone garden I had always hoped we’d be standing in, we breezed through photos with our family and bridal party of a combined 22 and just like that, I donned my veil and with my parents by my side, began taking the walk I’d always imagined but still couldn’t quite believe, rose petals and lanterns abound. Led by our Rabbi and one of my closest friends, and with acoustic guitar and keyboard trilling in the background, we exchanged our own vows – I may have stopped the whole thing to ask for a tissue – and we had a few of our dearest friends recite the seven blessings. Once Jeff broke the glass, we kissed like giddy teenagers and made our way back down the aisle, a married couple! We shared a quick toast with the bridal party, stole a few moments together in the last bits of the sunset hanging over the lush Hudson Valley, and then it was time to party! The cocktail reception featured a hyper-curated selection of passed and stationary appetizers including a raw bar, a fine Italian cheese spread, a trio of sliders, a live stir-fry chef and mini tacos with accompanying margarita shooters, as well as two signature cocktails. Guests meandered through rooms and hallways of the storied mansion (J.P. Morgan once owned it) and into one grand bar after the other until just like that, it was time for the Grand Ballroom to swing open its doors.

In achieving my ideal aesthetic of clean lines and refined romanticism to match the elegance of the mansion, our tables featured a stunning mix of hydrangeas and complimentary whites in highs and lows with the glow of candlelight underwriting it all. With large, glittering chandeliers hanging overhead, Jeff and I bounded into the room and spent the rest of the evening on the dance floor with, as we hoped, almost the entirety of our guests getting down to the musical stylings of the Dane Wright Band. Jeff and I danced our first dance to “Have A Little Faith in Me” – a song very personal to us that dates back to one of our very first dates, and when he dipped me that one last time, while we were both very much there, in the middle of a dancefloor littered with everyone we loved in the world, it felt like we were flying, and the only people in the universe. The night raged on through epic speeches from my mom as well as Jeff’s brother, a photo booth and multiple free-flowing bars, and even more culinary fun with a Viennese Station that ran almost the entire length of the ballroom, as well as a late-night to-go station of sweet and savory pretzels. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the incredible (and massive) cake I designed with DiMare Pastry. We closed out the night with final pictures to the backdrop of night and an afterparty to take us into the wee hours. To say that our wedding day was the best day of our lives would be an understatement.

2010 started out with the beautiful wedding of Jen & James. The couple were absolutely perfect for each other. Their wedding took place at the beautiful 3 West Club in New York City. This club is a classic venue that has a view of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Their wedding pictures at the 3 West Club were gorgeous. After weeks of wet, muggy rain, the happy couple, Farrah and Francisco woke to a gorgeous, sun-kissed, azure-skyed wedding day on Sunday. And what a glorious, emotional, kick-ass wedding it was! First off, I was super-excited that my amazing wife was able to cover this fun day with me. The day began at Farrah’s family home in Fresh Meadows, New York where Farrah dressed in her wedding finery. She wore a romantic, ivory satin ballgown with delicate lace trimming, an antique ivory lace veil, creamy ivory satin shoes which she had so diligently broken in for weeks, and dazzling platinum and diamond earrings. Then we dashed off to Francisco’s house, a mere 3 blocks away, to capture the groom and his bridal party in action. We found the groom on the second floor, dressed in a stylish, black tuxedo that suited his muscular, 6-foot frame perfectly. Francisco was the absolute picture of calm as he kicked back with his groomsmen and ring bearer.
As the ceremony time quickly approached, a shiny, 10-passenger limo arrived to whisk Francisco and his family to church. The wedding was held at the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Fresh Meadows, New York. Following the mass, Farrah and Francisco quickly posed for family and bridal photos and then we headed for the The Mansion at Oyster Bay on the Oyster Bay Golf Course in Woodbury, New York. What a gorgeous venue this was, with the long, winding drive framed with tall, elegant, draping spruce trees that led to a circular driveway with a lovely fountain that was encircled with dainty, coral-red poppy flowers. The historic and stately mansion was like a sparkling jewel nestled on 120 acres of what the original owners called the “woodlands”. Farrah and Francisco arrived like royalty in a magnificent white Rolls Royce. They and their closest loved ones celebrated and danced the night away in the mansion’s wood-paneled, gold damask curtained, crystal chandelier-lit ballroom.

The day started with some light April showers but by the time the wedding rolled around the skies were dry. As the old saying goes, rain on the wedding day is a sign of good luck. In fact, the Italians have a saying for it, “Sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata”, which means that a wet bride is a lucky bride. This “lucky” wedding took place at the Friends Meeting House, a Quaker style building in the Gramercy Park area in New York City. This was a simple, stylish wedding with the couple’s closest friends and family and I had the privilege and the honor to photograph their special day. Mary was a classic, elegant beauty and Jon should grace the covers of GQ. A great looking couple and a blast to hang out with.
