Check out how cool Avary and Zeke’s bridal party was! Couples with large bridal parties know I’m not a fan of the cookie-cutter photo where guys are on one side and the girls on the other. It’s always best to mix it up.

For this shot we went to the Balmy Street San Francisco Murals. If you want the edgier look, you’ll want to visit this street.

Wedding Ceremony: Shakespeare Garden, Golden Gate Park
Reception: Venue 550

I rarely get offbeat weddings, but when I do, I never turn them down because they are always fun, unique and generally have many surprises. For Avary and Zeke’s wedding, they had a samurai pumpkin bash. How fun is that? To top that off, their bridal party was amazing. We pulled off some amazing photographs during our bridal shoot at the Balmy Street San Francisco Murals.  Their wedding ceremony was a little more classic. Held at Shakespeare’s Garden in Golden Gate Park, both couples entered at opposite end of the garden and met at the center sundial where they lit their candle and completed their nuptials in front of their family and closest friends. Afterwards, everyone had a break to get into costumes before heading to Venue 550 for the pumpkin bash and slash. With katanas in hand, guest decimated roughly 30-40 pumpkins. The San Francisco Bay Area will always have a special place in my heart. After all, it’s where I grew up. When Adriana and Eric approached me to see if I would like to fly back to the West Coast and photograph their wedding, my answer was a definite yes.

Adriana and Eric started their day out at the Courtyard by Marriott in San Ramon, California. The bride and her bridesmaids got ready in Suite 402. While the girls were getting all dolled up, the boys were hanging out and partying in Suite 202. Their celebration was complete with lots of booze, pizza, and hot wings. There were even a few overturned tables at the end but that is a story for another day…. The couple had prepared wedding gifts for each other and heartfelt letters/cards. They opened these gifts separately which was captured both on film and video.

When everyone was finally ready, they headed to the Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon. It was at this beautiful venue with the rolling hills and azure blue skies where the couple had their dream wedding out on the main lawn of the country club. No detail was forgotten. The bride and groom even provided white sunglasses for the ceremony. To make this day even more special, the bride’s brother officiated the ceremony. After the ceremony,  we did some really fun and epic bridal party photos while the guests enjoyed the cocktail hour. Then we all headed into the banquet hall and the happy couple partied the night away. The couple had an awesome photo booth, lots of dancing, and even sliders and mini pizzas at the end of the night. What a gorgeous day it was in San Ramon. Although the forecast predicted the slightest chance of rain, fortunately it never materialized. Congratulations Adriana and Eric! Here are a few of my favorite moments of the day!

Katina & Simon’s Wedding – Hope Evangelical Free Church

Back in San Francisco!

I was truly honored to be able to photograph Simon and Katina’s wedding. Simon is an old middle school and high school buddy of mine and I have been awaiting his wedding day for a long time! Simon and Katina are such a fun and easygoing couple. Taking pictures of them and their bridal party was something I will never forget. The day began as a perfect San Francisco day, it started a bit chilly but blossomed into a sunny, azure skyed afternoon. Their wedding ceremony took place at Hope Evangelical Free Church in San Francisco and the wedding celebration was at the Canton Seafood Restaurant, a popular seafood and dim sum restaurant in the Financial District of San Francisco. We also had the pleasure of visiting the Palace of Fine Arts following the wedding to shoot some pictures!
