I had the pleasure of photographing a stunning wedding at this historic venue, capturing not only the beauty of the couple’s love story but also the timeless charm of Manhattan.

Getting Ready in Classic NYC Style

The day began with the bride and groom getting ready in the elegant suites of 3 West Club. The bride looked absolutely radiant in her gown, a perfect complement to the venue’s vintage charm. The soft natural light filtering through the large windows added a dreamy glow to the bridal portraits, while the groom’s preparation was filled with quiet excitement and anticipation.

Back at 3 West Club, the ceremony was an intimate affair, surrounded by family, friends, and the timeless elegance of the venue’s ballroom. The chandeliers cast a warm glow as the couple exchanged vows, filling the space with love and emotion.

The reception that followed was nothing short of magical. The ballroom transformed into a setting of classic sophistication with candlelit tables, lush floral arrangements, and a dance floor that stayed packed all night. The couple’s first dance was a moment to remember—graceful, romantic, and perfectly framed by the historic charm of the venue.

We stepped out for portraits at the iconic St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The grandeur of the cathedral’s neo-Gothic architecture created a breathtaking contrast to the couple’s intimate moments. Against the soaring spires and intricate detailing, the bride and groom shared quiet glances, hand-in-hand, creating timeless imagery that felt straight out of a classic New York romance.

A few weeks ago, I had the great pleasure of shooting Christine and Dan’s wedding in Eastern Long Island. It was at the historic Naugles Barn, built in 1938 on the Hallockville Museum Farm in Riverhead, New York. For those wine lovers out there, Riverhead, New York marks the beginning of Long Island’s Wine country. I met Christine when she was the maid of honor of one of my brides, Crystal, who was married last year in Massapequa, NY at the Riviera. I can’t think of a better way to start off the Fall wedding season than to shoot in a barn, which was a first for me. If you know Christine and Dan you would know how perfect this rustic setting is for them. Their wedding was a mix of casual chic with modern elegance. Christine wore a gorgeous strapless ball gown with layers of white tulle and a black Swarovski beaded belt from the Spring 2010 Romona Keveza couture line at Kleinfeld’s which she paired with a very sexy pair of black satin pumps. Her bridesmaids wore strapless shadow gray cocktail length dresses from Lula Kate’s bridesmaid collection and hot pink satin stilettos that were 4 inches high. Crystal was Christine’s matron of honor, even lending “Bean” (which she affectionately calls her), the stunning cubic zirconia bracelet that she wore on her wedding day. We couldn’t have asked for a better fall wedding day, the sun was out and it was a delicious 70-80 degrees.

One of Christine and Dan’s close friends, Damon officiated the wedding. The wedding ceremony and vows that he wrote for them were quite beautiful and incredibly moving. My hats off to you Damon, you did an awesome job sir!

The following is from Damon’s notes from the wedding, which he was kind enough to share with me. (Prior to authoring his wedding speech, Damon sent Dan and Christine each a questionnaire.)
A little background for those of you that do not know the couple, Damon is the fiancé of Tara, one of Christine’s bridesmaids who introduced Dan to Christine.

When Dan met Christine, he described her as “short, brown wavy hair and cute as heck”, while Christine described Dan as, “the skinniest guy ever”. As their first date continued, Christine remembers Dan talking about his nieces and nephews a lot, even going so far as to show her pictures. She recalls thinking he was really a sweet, kind, and genuine person.
Dan, on the other hand, could not tell if Christine liked him. And even called Tara immediately after, “To see if Christine was into him.”
Just so you know Dan, “She was in to you.”

Damon asked Dan and Christine to describe what they feel when they think about each other…
“For Dan the answer was trust, he trusts Christine completely. For Christine, when she thinks of Dan, she gets “a euphoric tingly feeling.”
It’s so beautiful in its simplicity. To be so loved and so happy, you feel it in your soul, and then to let your guard down to trust another completely.”

Damon also asked, “If you could each fulfill one wish for the other, what would it be?”
“Christine, Dan wants to give you everything you ever wanted.
Dan, Christine wants you to have a happy and fulfilled life. And to encourage you in everything you do. She is your biggest fan.
Dan, you are everything she ever wanted.
And Christine, Dan’s life is happy and fulfilled as long as you are in it.”

I think I have the best job in the world, I am privileged to be there to witness one of the most amazing and meaningful days in two people’s lives. Thanks Dan and Christine for the unforgettable memories! Congratulations to you both!

Portraits in Central Park

Central Park is a classic spot for wedding photos, and it didn’t disappoint. The autumn leaves painted the park in vibrant shades of gold and crimson, creating a picture-perfect scene. The bride’s flowing gown and the groom’s sharp tuxedo contrasted beautifully with the natural backdrop, resulting in timeless portraits filled with love and elegance.

A Glamorous Setting for an Unforgettable Day

The Essex House’s grand ballroom was transformed into a dreamscape, with cascading florals, shimmering candles, and luxe gold accents that complemented the venue’s historic charm. The couple, radiating joy and style, were perfectly at home in this setting, surrounded by loved ones and the twinkling lights of the city.

Moments after their ceremony, the couple head back up to their bridal suite to reflect and share a private moment together.

A Night to Remember

The reception was a dazzling affair. The live band kept the dance floor packed, while the speeches and toasts brought tears of joy and laughter. The couple’s first dance was a highlight, with the ballroom lights dimmed to let their love take center stage.

Every detail of this wedding reflected the couple’s personality, from the custom cocktails named after their pets to the heartfelt handwritten notes left at each place setting.

Christine and Joe’s intimate wedding took place at the Museum of the City of New York and finished at Sidecar NYC. Their friends and family came in from all parts of the country to party and witness the marriage of this amazing couple. I had the pleasure of being Christine and Joe’s photographer since Joe contacted me to photograph and document his proposal to Christine about a year ago at Grand Central Terminal. Christine started out her day getting ready at The New York Palace Hotel, a beautiful hotel in mid town Manhattan, with her first look with Joe taking place at the lobby area. After the first look we headed to a few sentimental locations in NYC including Grand Central Terminal (The Proposal), The Conservatory Garden and the corner of where their 1st kiss happened before ending up at The Museum of the City of New York for the ceremony. After the ceremony, everyone headed over to Sidecar NYC to party and dance the night away. Below is a highlight montage and a a few of my many favorite images from the evening. Enjoy!
