Christina and Michael’s wedding day at Casa Real Winery at Ruby Hill has finally arrived. It’s been over a year since I first met Christina and Michael and more than 10 months since I shot their engagement photos in Napa Valley. Christina and Michael’s storybook wedding took place at the gorgeous Casa Real Winery at Ruby Hill in Pleasanton, California. Being a Bay Area native, I always enjoy shooting weddings and events out in the beautiful wine country of California. As for the couple, Christina and Michael, this wedding took over a year of planning. They had special touches like up lighting in the elegant Casa Real Amber Room (where the ceremony took place), a rocking band playing, a solo harpist, a photo booth, and spotlighting displaying their names on the dance floor. But with all this careful planning, sometimes surprises make the day even more magical. Christina was pleasantly surprised by a beautiful heartfelt letter that Michael wrote to her to read before she put on her stunning Vera Wang wedding gown and very sexy gold glitter Christian Louboutin peep toe slingbacks shoes. Michael even recorded himself reading the letter to her while he writes the letter which is played back through the montage below. Enjoy!

Palm Events Center in the Vineyard Wedding captured by top Bay Area wedding photographers Josh Wong Photography

I must say that I’ve traveled across the country photographing Grace and Kevin. From our initial meeting in San Francisco, then to the engagement photo session in San Antonio, TX, and ending with their gorgeous wedding at the Palm Events Center in Pleasanton California. Over 10,000 miles flown, but I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Grace and Kevin are an amazing and fun couple to be around. They make you happy when you are around them. Their carefree nature, hospitality, and generosity made this day unforgettable.  The day started early for both wedding parties who stayed at the Hyatt House. While everyone was still hanging around, having breakfast and goofing off, Grace was practicing her vows while her hair and makeup were still being done. Kevin on the other hand, well… seemed a bit antsy and was making sure everything was going according to schedule. When the afternoon finally rolled around, all the hair and makeup was done, all the bridal party gifts were handed out, and everyone headed to The Palm Events Center for the “first look”. This was also where the ceremony and the reception were to take place. The Palm is a luxurious winery estate. The estate room is wrapped with wine barrels from the floor to the ceiling and lit with several tea light grand chandeliers. Outside are breathtaking views of the vineyards and gently sloping foothills.  Perfect for sunset wedding photography. We also had our fun Fashion Studio Booth setup for Grace and Kevin as well. There is a certain kind of magic that happens when you mix Tuscan-inspired architecture, the rolling hills of Livermore Valley, and a couple as genuinely radiant as Alina and Jared.

Last weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of documenting their wedding at the stunning Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery. From the dramatic architecture of the Grand Salon to the soft light filtering through the vineyards, every moment felt like it was pulled straight from a cinematic romance.

The Setting: Casa Real at Ruby Hill

Casa Real is a photographer’s dream. The venue strikes a perfect balance between grand scale and intimate warmth. Alina and Jared chose the Amber Room for their ceremony, where the limestone fireplace and glowing candlelight created a mood that was both regal and deeply personal.

We instantly hit it off during our initial meeting. Alina and Jared are such a fun and energetic couple that we had to have two engagement photo sessions. One in New York City, when they came to visit and another one back in Santa Cruz, California. Instead of engagement sessions, it actually felt more like just hanging out with great friends. Their wedding was held at Casa Real at the Ruby Hill Winery in Pleasanton, California. The wedding was full of fun and amazing details. From the 1,000 blue origami cranes that Alina folded herself, to the unique RX prescription pads at the guest sign-in table. I even had many of my past, present, and several future brides at the wedding so it was absolutely amazing to see them all. It was definitely a night to remember. A Night to Remember

As the sun dipped below the Ruby Hill horizon, the party moved to the ballroom. The toasts were filled with stories of how Alina and Jared bring out the best in one another—a sentiment that was obvious to anyone watching them share their first dance.

Alina and Jared, thank you for inviting me to capture the start of your greatest adventure yet. Your day was as beautiful as the love you share!
