Engagement Pictures in the Meat Packing District, Chelsea, and DUMBO area.

Madison & Matt

The minute we met, we hit it off. They loved my work and I loved photographing them. Madison and Matt decided to have their engagement pictures taken at two of my favorite places to shoot in New York. The Meat Packing District in New York City and DUMBO in Brooklyn. Both places have a very urban feel with a lot of greenery which is why I love photographing there. We started our shoot in Chelsea where I gave them little tips on how to be camera ready, but they really didn’t need any because these two are just great together. Thank you two and I can’t wait to see you both again at the wedding!

Fresh from a move from Philadelphia to New York City, Ashley and Matt didn’t even have time to settle down in their new place when they had their engagement session with me in the city. They literally just moved to the city a couple of days ago and were still living out of their boxes. How they managed to find clothes for our engagement session … you’ll have to ask them. When I asked them where they’d like to go shoot, they didn’t have a preference so we I decided to hit two spots, The Meatpacking and Chinatown. The Meat Packing has always been a favorite place as it has the Highline and Chelsea Market. As for Chinatown, well… I’ve always suggested Chinatown to my couples but none really wanted to have a shoot there. Ashley and Matt were my first who really embraced the idea…. And I’m soooo glad they did because… OMG. those images that we produced there were EPIC. With the added freak shower storm making the grounds wet… WOW is all I could say. Thanks again you two! I can’t wait till your wedding. Enjoy!

Andrea and Jon Engagement Photos

The best times to take photographs are when the sun is low on the horizon. Either during sunrise or sunset. For me, I’m not a morning person so I normally opt for the later and I regularly suggest this time to my couples. For Andrea and Jon’s engagement photos, we went to the meat packing district in New York City. I generally like to start about an hour and a half before the sun sets and finish off at sunset. Their photos definitely show how the lighting can make a big difference. Definitely one of my top 5 places to shoot in New York City.

It was a beautiful sunny day and Charlie Chapman murals were on display all around the Meat Packing District. I absolutely love bringing my clients here to shoot their engagement photos because the art and the architecture seem to change every season. Of course, there are the neighborhood staples like Pastis Restaurant and the Spice Market, but everything else seems to change. Today, I met up with Christine and Dan, whose wedding will take place this coming September, for their engagement session. It was a day of great fun. The attempted terrorist attack in Times Square didn’t hinder us one bit. Glad we didn’t go there. Anyway, we started off in the Apple Store, walked around the bright and vibrant neighborhood, headed to the High Line, and ended in Chelsea Market. What a day! Great company! Loads of fun!
