This year, Autism Speaks to Young Professionals (AS2YP) had their annual winter gala at the ultra hip Avenue, one of New York City’s hottest lounges. The reception featured an evening of cocktails, musical entertainment by DJ Caleb Loftus, and delicious mini cup cakes by Bakarí for 300 guests, while helping educate and raise awareness of the disorder that now affects one in every 110 American children. In attendance this year was the newly crowned Miss New York 2012, Johanna Sambucini. She was great and fun to work with. We’ll definitely see more of her soon. Again, I always have a great time photographing the events for Autism Speaks and can’t wait until their next bash! Below are some of my favorite images of the evening. Enjoy!

Last night I was the photographer covering the AAFA 32nd Annual American Image Awards benefiting Autism Speaks. I was asked to cover the founders of Autism Speaks, Bob and Suzanne Wright. The event, hosted by Tinsley Mortimer, was held at the Grand Hyatt, NYC where probably close to 1000 people converged into the Grand Ballroom for dinner and the award ceremony. After a short presentation about autism, Tom Brokaw presented the Humanitarian award to the Suzanne and Bob Wright. Also in attendance were Whitney Port and Roxy Olin from MTV’s hit show, “The City.”, Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen of “The Real Housewives of New York City”, the Olsen Twins Mary-Kate and Ashley, and Tommy Hilfiger and Dee Ocleppo. I had a great time photographing and meeting all these people. Below are some of photos from the event.

Today, I was the official photographer for AutismSpeaks.org. I had the wonderful pleasure of following Bob Wright and Suzanne Wright around New York City and be their personal photographer to observe the Light It Up Blue campaign and the  beginning of Autism Awareness Month. Along the way, we met people of the likes of Yoko Ono, Tommy Hilfiger and co-Host of Bravo’s Top Chef Tom Colicchio. Bob Wright, the former president and CEO of NBC and vice chairman of GE until May 2008, along with his wife Suzanne Wright, founded Autism Speaks in 2004 after their grandchild was diagnosed with autism.
