An Evening with Annie Leibovitz
As a event photographer in New York City, I get to photograph many different people from all walks of life. Today, I had the opportunity to meet and photograph Annie Leibovitz for the Autism Speaks Gala at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. She’s been a true inspiration of mine for some time now so when I had my portrait session with her I was quite nervous. Truthfully, I haven’t been nervous taking a photograph in a very long time but in this case it was understandable. Those of you who have seen me work know that I try to be very charismatic and friendly to bring the best out of people so the images are natural. From a technical aspect, I do things a bit differently as well. This difference completely intrigued Annie. While Annie is used to the big budget productions for cover shoots for Vogue and Vanity Fair, she was completely fascinated with my lighting set-up at Cipriani Wall St and how I came up with such great shots. During my session with her, I ended teaching her my unique style. While I wish it was the other way around, it was such a blast and I had a great experience. Below are some of the shots from the evening.

Heather called me about a month ago saying that she was planning a family trip out to New York City and would love to have me take a family portrait for them which screams New York City and yet different from most family portraits. We entertained several ideas and locations and because NYC has so many iconic and historic landmarks it was difficult to choose with the time we had together. We ultimately settled on Grand Central Station and I think we made the right choice.

Cold weather is upon us in New York City. While I could move my photo shoots indoors, I still prefer the outdoor setting which allows me to make use of the natural light and amazing New York City skyline. Today I had a small family portrait session at Fort Tryon Park in New York City. Brooke, Nichole, Anthony and Jenna were my subjects today. These four siblings braved an hour of 36 degree weather so my hats go off to them. Fort Tryon Park is also the home of The Cloisters which is a branch of the Metropolitan Museum. We started at the southern most entrance of the park and worked our way around park. Due to the cold weather, we had much of the park to ourselves. Here are a couple of my favorite images of the day!
