It is a sad fact that summer has come to an end and fall is among us. As the hours of daylight are getting shorter and shorter I can’t help but reminisce about the amazing internship I had this summer at Josh Wong Photography.

It was a lot of work going from fashion shoots to weddings to engagement sessions and then product shoots with post-processing in between; sometimes we even did multiple shoots in one day! The days were long, shooting until 1 am and getting home at 3 am was pretty normal. This experience was absolutely unforgettable; I got to meet and know Josh’s awesome team and had a blast dancing with wedding guests at the Fashion Studio Booth.

I learned a tremendous amount about photography and how to work with people. Witnessing Josh’s keen eye and creativity working firsthand at each shoot will never be forgotten.  I am so grateful for this opportunity to have learned from one of the best and I am excited to go to more events and continue working with Josh and the team in the future.

Josh holds exclusive photography internships every few summers. You’ll be immersed in his world, shooting at some of the most beautiful places and getting access to some of the most exclusive circles. Most importantly, you’ll see the way he photographs and pick Josh’s brain and see why he’s the best at what he does.  It’s a tough schedule but is extremely rewarding so when the next one is available, don’t hesitate to apply. You won’t be disappointed and you may see me around.

A few hundred people crammed into Duravit’s NYC spacious showroom for their annual products showcase and launch party. While I wasn’t exactly sure what I was getting myself into when I learned that I would be shooting bathtubs and sinks, I quickly figured out that these tubs are not only luxurious and practical but true works of art. I certainly was not alone in my assertion because every guest in the showroom seemed to be taken by these beautiful bathtubs. I learned that the best photographers act like flies on the wall to get natural pictures of people interacting with the product. Capturing the essence of the space by alternating lenses also helps create versatility in the photographs and adds to capturing the drama of an event. This was a great experience witnessing event photography in action. Several days later when we returned to the showroom the atmosphere of the space was totally different. Now the room was completely empty and we focused on photographing the objects in a way that highlighted the designer’s vision. By taking images of entire structures and some close ups we were able to show viewers many aspects of Duravit’s one of a kind merchandise.

Today I experienced something I have only dreamt about before. I was engulfed in a world of colorful fabrics, designs, and sketches. Everything felt surreal as I met the creative design team at Natori and their model. Going to a fashion shoot was something I’ve always wanted to do and to experience first hand. Seeing it behind the scene was even better.

The day consisted of quick outfit changes for the model with different looks and poses to show off Natori’s unique designs for the upcoming 2014 Spring Look, followed by my uploading and tweaking around 2000 images slightly to give it the ‘Josh Wong Photography’ look and feel. I learned how photography is conducted behind the scenes of a fashion shoot and how important the interaction is between the photographer and the model. Our model “Katie” was amazing and watching Josh and Katie work together is where all the magic happened. The two fed off each others positive energy and became an amazing team.  With that, the new vision for the Natori 2014 Spring Line Fashion Look book came to life.

I absolutely loved my experience working with a model and a large fashion company, and I hope to shoot for them again soon! Below are a few of our favorites.
